$160 for the initial (intake) session
$140 for a standard (45 min.) session
$205 for an extended (90 min.) session
Payment is collected at each session prior to the start of the session. Payments may be made by cash, check, or by Visa or Mastercard.
Many of our clients submit their own insurance claims for services. We provide the necessary receipts with all the appropriate insurance codes and, even though we are out of network, most insurance policies include out-of-network benefits.
The out of network benefits for some policies are excellent and others are not. You can find out about your policy's out of network benefits by calling the customer service phone number which is usually found on the back of your insurance card. You simply ask them what your out-of-network benefits are for outpatient mental health care with an LPC.
Be sure to ask about your deductible and about allowable amounts for psychotherapy services. If you are interested in couples counseling, be sure to ask about "conjoint/family" psychotherapy.

If the office is closed due to inclement weather, you will be contacted in advance. Tele mental health sessions will proceed as scheduled. In person appointments may be conducted by tele mental health instead. If the office is open, but you cannot make it to your appointment due to road conditions, please contact us as soon as possible so that a tele mental health session can be arranged.
Whether requested via phone, email, fax, or any other form of communication, at no time will information of a client be provided to anybody other than the client without a signed "Release of Information" contract from the client for the entity requesting information. Shellie will be asking for your release of information to speak to any other medical or mental health professionals who work with you in order to provide effective and ethical care.
If you wish to have information shared with a family member or another professional, be sure to request the "Release of Information" forms.
From I-81 take exit 307 (Va. 277 or Fairfax Pike) toward Stephens City. Turn right on Main Street (U.S. Rt. 11). Drive half a block and the Newtown Counseling building is on the right.

Selove Professional Counseling and Consulting is conveniently located in Historic Stephens City, VA in the Newtown Counseling building (only 8 miles from Winchester, VA). It is easy to get to, right off of Interstate 81 exit 307. Free parking is available on the street closeby.

Regarding Counseling Services
We require at least 24 hours notice before the time of an appointment for cancellations so that the time slot can be opened to other clients on our waiting list. If you fail to provide this notice, you will be charged for the full cost of the cancelled session. Exceptions may be made in extreme emergencies.
Consider asking for a Tele-Mental Health session instead of cancelling if that will work for you.
If you need to cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as you can. On weekends or after hours you can cancel an appointment by leaving a voicemail message on the office phone (540-868-9000).
Please note that insurance companies will not reimburse you for cancellation fees.
